Job Description

Our Group Enrolment Services team is headed towards our next frontier in member digital experience. With your help and expertise, we will shape the member enrolment experience of the future. Are you tech savvy Are you creative and forward-thinking Are you keen on providing an exceptional customer experience Do you consider yourself results-oriented Are you a great communicator with solid decision making and multitasking skills If so, this leadership role may be for you.As part of Group Enrolment Services, you will be responsible for providing leadership, direction and vision to a team of Enrolment Specialists, Senior Analysts, Team Coordinator and Technical Assistants focused on the electronically enrolled segment of Canada Life #39;s Group Life and Health national block of business. The team handles the administration of eligibility and life event information that our customers submit electronically to us through payroll feeds to process and manage their group benefits.Creative solutions and innovative thinking are required in this highly dynamic and fast paced work environment to ensure consistent delivery of an outstanding service experience for both plan sponsors and plan members across the country.What you will do

  • Lead employees to meet the organization #39;s expectations for service and continuous improvement:
  • Plan, organize and direct the day-to-day activities of the team including workflow, workload, and priorities.
  • Monitor time service and quality results, prepare, analyze, comment and share performance reports.
  • Participate in the discussions around our long-term strategy for electronic enrolment and collaborate on the development of the annual business plan and short-term tactics to support the strategy.
  • Develop a resource plan and allocate appropriate resources to achieve the objectives and ensure plans and projects are completed on time.
  • Lead, develop, enable and empower members of the team.
  • Actively participate in discussions with third-party payroll software vendors to standardize payroll feeds (HRIS files) our clients use, analyze, share insights and present findings.
  • Analyze customer level data to understand trends in order to enable next steps of electronic enrolments for our block of business.
  • Independently drive/lead workstreams within projects related to electronic enrolment.
  • Foster an environment of continuous improvement by developing and proactively acting upon and implementing innovative opportunities and best practices.
  • Work in collaboration with other areas of Canada Life, external customers, business partners, brokers, software vendors, third party administrators, consultants, third party payors in order to successfully implement our customers #39; HRIS files. This includes defining requirements for customer data including custom programming, problem solving, streamlining non-standard manual processes and recommending solutions.
What you will bring
  • 6 to 9 years of experience in technology or a combination of technology and business, preferably in the Group Benefits space
  • Undergraduate degree in Business or Computer Science/Data Management
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, influencing, and relationship building skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong collaborative partnerships across various functional areas of the organization including our Group Customer Technology team, Group Customer Offices, and our external customers plan sponsors and vendors
  • Strong decision-making skills - by applying a structured approach to identify and analyze options including internal and external risks and impacts
  • Creative problem-solving skills - Critical thinker with experimental mindset, can think outside the box to come up with customer focused solutions and challenge the status quo
  • Results oriented - Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle changing priorities and fluctuating workloads, strict adherence to deadlines
  • Bilingualism is an asset
  • Travel required occasionally
