Job Description

This is a physically demanding role that is performed in all weather conditions. Must have reliable transportation to and from work (remote location, not accessible by bus.EVRAZ is committed to maintaining and promoting a safe, healthy and injury-free environment. It is required for all jobs.

  • Working in conveyor picking stations removing unwanted material from product stream
  • Cleaning production areas, including shoveling, scraping and sweeping
  • Assisting operators with maintenance and repairs of equipment
  • Assist with shop and yard cleanliness by removing debris and picking-up metal from various places throughout the facility
  • Loading and unloading material and equipment
  • Assist in organizing and cleaning warehousing and part storage areas
Requirements
  • No experience necessary but previous work experience in a manufacturing, production, or similar scrapyard/auto part environment will be considered an asset
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the position including standing, walking, sitting, climbing, crawling, kneeling, bending, moderate to heavy lifting and pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds throughout the day
  • Willing and able to work in variable weather conditions including hot, dry summer conditions and cold, harsh winter conditions
  • Knowledge and understanding of metallic materials purchased, ferrous and non-ferrous classifications, an asset
  • Able to work with minimal supervision/general oversight
  • Able to communicate clearly as including using a handheld radio
