In this role you will be responsible for the electrical design and execution of a wide variety of projects, with a focus on industrial, municipal and hydro-electric utilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining existing client relationships and developing new clients, coordinating work with other offices and disciplines, and satisfying customer expectations and requirements. Your technical knowledge of low, medium and high voltage electrical distribution and associated protection of electrical equipment will set you apart from other candidates.Your role within the teamThe Electrical Engineer will report to the Project Manager and Electrical Department Head who will provide supervision for the electrical design work that includes the following:

  • Preparation of electrical single line diagrams, AC control schematics, wiring distribution schemes, panel schedules.
  • Development of cable block diagrams and cable and conduit schedules.
  • Design of physical layout of electrical equipment, raceway and grounding plans related to the various facilities within the plant.
  • Preparation of cable and raceway routing layouts. Arc Flash calculations and label preparation. Work on reports. Perform site visits.
  • Design and development of electric heat tracing systems.
  • Perform drafting / drawing tasks using AutoCAD.
  • Perform design work in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code.

The ideal candidate
  • Completion of an Electrical Engineering degree program. Registration or eligible to be registered with EGM.
  • 5+ years #39; experience in the electrical consulting or construction industries. Knowledge and application of the Canadian electrical code.
  • Previous electrical design work experience in heavy industrial and/or mining projects is an asset. Experience in a consulting environment is an asset.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit is an asset.
  • Must have a valid drivers license.
