Job Description

SIMULATION ANALYSTWinnipeg/Anniston/St CloudMCIis North America #39;s public and private market motor coach leader. Products include the luxuryJ-Series(an industry best-seller for over a decade), the workhorseD-Series, and the brand new zero-emission luxury and commuter coaches: the battery-electricJ4500 CHARGE and MCI D45 CRT LE CHARGE. Further information is available atwww.mcicoach.com.POSITION SUMMARYThis position is accountable for completion of staticamp; dynamic finite element analysis tasks. This will include all related design and analysis activities, calculations, reports, presentations , and communications. The goal is to simulate more and physically test less, where practical. With this position there will be an expectation and a strong emphasis on first time quality releases.WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Ensures engineering designs and design changes are analyzed and validated to meet Industry and NFI Group product standards.
  • Works closely with electrical and mechanical designers (and other departments),
  • Able to work independently as well as part of organizational and project teams.
  • Performs FEA/CFDamp; 2D analysis on new and existing designs, analysis of the results, writing reports, and working with the designer(s) to improve the products to meet all standards.
  • Works with designers to develop validation plans to meet requirements, ordering parts, preparing, and performing tests, and managing outside contractors for additional validation.
  • To validate Engineering Authorized Deviations (EADs) to ensure structural compliance.
  • Work directly with all facets of the organization to provide engineering support to suppliers, production, purchasing, quality assurance, customer service and other departments as required.
  • Conduct fatigue life estimations using simulation.
  • Ability to travel up to 5% internationally is required*
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Bachelor #39;s degree in Mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
  • Registered professional engineer or engineer-in-training with APEGM, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of carbon steel structures, composites, weld joint classifications and bonding within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in Noise, Vibrationamp; Harshness (NVH) is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Ansys, HyperWorks, AMESimamp; Fluent software packages an asset.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
