We make boxes for some of the world #39;s largest suppliers and we need people who want a career in manufacturing to be part of our WestRock family.Job Opportunity:Our Winnipeg facility is hiring a Quality Technician Intern for the term January 2024 to July 2024, to support the facility with safety and quality improvements by participating in projects and initiates.The Quality Technician will support the department Manager as they work to ensure the facility is compliant with regulations. The candidate will be exposed to Quality Systems within the manufacturing environment.Skills you need to succeed:

  • Excellent communication, ownership, interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written; ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships; and a team player
  • Ability to allocate one #39;s time effectively, ability to prioritize workload; ability to work at a detailed level
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems
  • Intermediate to advance skills in Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office programs
Responsibilities you will have:
  • Perform documented quality assessments on a variety of products for customers and follow up with appropriate individuals regarding the results
  • Lead and assist in the organization and execution of multiple individual and team projects including but not limited to creating a Quality Issues Playbook and improving the Incoming Raw Materials system
  • Create department-specific presentations on required quality protocols and assist in the planning and demonstration of said presentations
  • Assist the Area Quality Manager with their tasks and responsibilities as needed
  • Observe and participate in daily and weekly meetings and audits with management team
  • Other Duties as assigned.
