In turn, we offer an award-winning environment that fosters a people-first culture with a high priority on your personal and professional growth.Your OpportunityWe are looking for a Senior Manager, National Accounting Standards who can work remote within any of our Canadian offices to join our National Assuranceamp; Accounting team and own the following responsibilities:

  • Providing guidance and performing research to assist individuals in the Firm #39;s local offices, including Accounting Advisory, on complex accounting and financial reporting matters
  • Provide training and practice tools to the Firm #39;s local offices and directly to clients on Financial Reporting Frameworks, including ASPE, ASNPO, and PSAS
  • Performing quality control reviews on financial statements
  • Development of accounting and financial reporting publications, manuals and other practice tools for internal and external distribution
  • Designing and delivering effective accounting and financial reporting training programs for Partners, staff, and clients including live instructor-led training, web-based training, and virtual instructor-led training
  • Development or enhancement of Firm policies relating to accounting standards

Your experience and education
  • You have a CPA, CA designation (or other similar professional designation, e.g., CPA, CGA / CPA, CMA, etc.)
  • You have 3-7 years (post designation) of accounting standards experience
  • You have a strong proficiency with ASPE, and ASNPO reporting standards
  • If you have experience and knowledge of PSAS it would be considered an asset
  • You have experience in delivering training and presentations, including development of relevant materials
  • You have effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • You possess a basic understanding of other standards, policies and procedures including assurance standards, securities regulation, risk management, independence, tax, etc.
