In addition, the foreman is responsible for planning tasks and their execution, both at the yard level and for deliveries. They are responsible for their team and must ensure that a good working climate is maintained. They are called upon to manage and resolve, within the limits of their power, all the problems that may arise in the yard, at all levels. They must also respect and ensure respect for Patrick Morin standards and procedures, more specifically those of the yard.Main ResponsibilitiesDelivery Management

• Ensure a healthy delivery operation.
• See that the load and stowage are respected for each delivery.
• Ensure minimal damage to materials.
• See to the proper functioning of the fleet, whether for maintenance or repair.
• Have effective communication with contractors, stores, and other stakeholders.

Customer Service Management

• Receive customer complaints.
• Provide excellent customer service in the lumber yard.

Staff Management

• Make schedules.
• Manage conflicts between employees.
• Coach and develop their employees’ skills.
• Plan and maximize workforce productivity.

Yard Management

• Manage the reception of inventory from the yard.
• Plan seasonal changes appropriately.
• Implementation of all OHS components.
• Ensure compliance with branch policies and procedures.
• Review the results of operational controls (audit) to ensure continuous improvement of lumber yard operations using the various dashboards available.

Required Skills and Qualifications ProfileTraining/Experience/Certification

• Hold a high school diploma or the equivalent.
• Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role (an asset).
• Have experience in planning and coordinating deliveries.
• Hold a forklift operator licence.

Knowledge

• Have a good knowledge of construction materials.
• Have a good command of the French language, both orally and written, English (an asset).
• Know the SAAQ loading and securing rules.
• Have basic knowledge of truck mechanics.

Required Skills and Aptitudes

• Know how to plan and coordinate.
• Demonstrate rigour, dynamism, integrity, and leadership.
• Be a good communicator, motivator.
• Be in excellent physical shape.
• Ability to work under pressure.
