Addictions expertise to provide program direction for Correctional facility substance abuse education, treatment, and referral services will provide linkages and strengthen the development and provision of addictions programming for inmates.ExperienceREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:- Diploma in Chemical Dependency studies.- Minimum of two years of supervised addictions experience.- SASSI(Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Instrument) Certification would be an assetKNOWLEDGE, SKILLSamp; ABILITIES- Ability to demonstrate knowledge in addiction(s) and their effects on the family unit.- Ability to accurately assess addiction(s) and make appropriate recovery plans.- Ability to screen for addictions and/or addiction related issues and make appropriate referrals.- Knowledge of screening and addiction assessment tools and procedures.- Knowledge of group dynamics.- Demonstrated knowledge of a Holistic Addiction Treatment Model, the transtheoretical Model of Change and the Developmental Model of Recovery (SMRS - Saskatchewan Model of Recovery Services).- Knowledge of best practices in addiction field and harm reduction strategies.- Ability to deliver workshops and program material to clients and community.- Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team of professionals.- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing- Ability to work independently to plan and organize work load demands.- Knowledge of First Nations cFor more information on this job, please visit the employer #39;s website.
