Job Description

Forbes Bros Ltd. is looking for multiple Powerline Technician Apprentices (full-time, permanent) of all levels for projects within the northern Saskatchewan region. This position will be joining our growing team based out of the Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Our growth in the Prince Albert region spans from Spiritwood, Shellbrook, Melford, and more!The Powerline Technician Apprentices will have a recognized Apprenticeship card . Key Responsibilities:
  • Lives Forbes Bros. value of WE WORK SAFEamp; never compromising on safety in all aspects of our every day
  • Understand daily activities, assess site hazards, ensure hazards are eliminated and/or controlled and communicated to all workers on site
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair power lines and cables that run between distribution electrical systems, towers and poles
  • Assemble, erect, and maintain steel, wood or concrete poles, towers and guy wires
  • Splice, solder and insulate conductors and related wiring to connect power distribution networks
  • Maintain and repair overhead and underground power lines and cables, and other associated equipment such as insulators, conductors, lightning arrestors, switches, transformers and lighting systems
  • Adhere to Forbes Bros Occupational Health and Safety rules and regulations
  • Working from heights and confined spaces
  • Climb different types of structures and possess the necessary tools to do so
  • Perform other tasks related to this function as assigned
Candidate Requirements:
  • Provincially recognized Apprentice Card ,is required
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to take and/or provide direction
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team member while equally motivated working independently
  • Able and willing to travel to required remote project sites and work extended periods of time and overtime and/or weekend hours as needed
  • Able and willing to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions and environments, inclusive of heavy lifting and working at various heights and confined spaces
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of Pre-Access D amp;A testing, presenting a valid Driver #39;s License and an acceptable five (5) year drivers abstract
