Ministry of Highways, Design and Construction Division, Bridge Branch, is seeking an individual with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to join the bridge crew within Bridge Branch in Prince Albert.This position requires knowledge of cranes and hoists certified at a Journeyperson conventional/lattice boom proficiency trade level. As such, fully certified applicants are preferred but apprenticeship may be considered.This position will include operation of a crane to be used for the construction and maintenance of bridges on the Provincial Highway Network. Candidates must be able to assist and lead in carpentry work, steel erections, welding and concrete work.You will have knowledge and experience in:welding;bridge construction, maintenance and demolition including concrete finishing, carpentry, steel work and sandblasting;demolition including jackhammer skills;relevant regulations and acts related to heavy equipment operation and bridge construction repair;Highway Traffic Act and Regulations;Navigable Waters and Fisheries; andOccupational Health and Safety.Candidates must be able to perform physically-demanding work in all weather conditions and be away from headquarters for an extended period of time.
