Job DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY The Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction is responsible for all programming and personnel supports for Grades 1-12 curriculum, instruction, and assessment. The Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction oversees curricula implementation, monitoring, student assessment and reporting, instructional strategy in-service and the identification and recommended acquisition of required learning resources. The position works in collaboration with all ADEA staff to ensure that students receive a high-quality education while meeting the organizations vision and mission.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor of Education degree required. Master’s Degree is an asset: in Curriculum and Instruction or an associate field of study. Possesses a Saskatchewan Teacher CertificateMinimum of 5 years #39; experience as a Superintendent or related experience. Strong understanding of Indigenous Education and Saskatchewan Curricula. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLSamp; ABILITIESExcellent communication and interpersonal skills. Possesses strong leadership traits with the ability to lead people and provide direction. Takes initiative, detailed oriented, and is highly organized. Ensures student welfare through effective direction to central staff, Superintendents of Education, and principals ensuring appropriate services and supports are in place to address curriculum and instructional needs. Models’ effective leadership practices and supports the leadership growth of coordinators, as well as principals and vice principals in curriculum and instructional practices. Prepares budget estimates for areas of responsibility. Plans, organizes, and leads direct reports in strategic initiatives and ongoing operations. Assists the Director of Education in preparing and presenting proposals and reports to the Education Authority Board. Improves the learning opportunities within the system and facilitates continuous improvement initiatives based on Education Authority’s approved plans and key actions. Practices leadership in a manner that is viewed positively.
