Therefore, this person supports and coaches their team to ensure a safe, funenvironment where children learn and thrive. The Child Care Coordinator is responsible for providingsuccessful leadership and management to the licensed child care programs at IC, Malaspina, Ron Brent,Springwood, Westwood and 5th Avenue and school break programs.Key Responsibilities: The Coordinator is committed to achieving excellence in child care and makes a significantcontribution towards the advancement of quality child care in our community.To spend within an approved budget, hire, supervise, and terminate all staff and volunteerswithin the Coordinator’s responsibility area in consultation with the Manager of Operations andthe Director of Child Care Services.Ensure that all systems meet Association standards of confidentiality, safety, quality, concern forthe environment and health and are compliant with relevant government regulations.Responsible for human resource management including coaching and performancemanagement.Accountable for the oversight to ensure quality delivery of YMCA A Place to Connect.Ensures high service standards and satisfaction ratings throughout all programs. Achieves allquality targets established through association goals and national standards.Ensures compliance with all municipal, provincial, regional, and national YMCA initiatives.Ensures that all programs are operating in compliance with the Child Care Licensing Regulations.Oversite of staff schedules including vacation requests to ensure seamless operations.Familiarity and compliance with applicable legislation including Employment Standards, HumanRights and Work Safe to safeguard the respectful and fair treatment of staff, volunteers,members, participants and visitors to the facility.Meeting reporting requirements.Engages and builds a team dedicated to excellence.Knowledge, skills and abilities: Detail oriented, self-starter and organized.Excellent time management and teamwork abilities.Excellent relationship building skills.Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to problem solve and remain calm in an emergency.Temperament, Ability, Character and Experience to guide staff in providing exceptional care.Proven computer skills and ability to work with Microsoft Office.Child CareEmployment OpportunitiesP.O. Box 1808 * 2020 Massey Drive * Prince George * BC * V2L 4V7 | 250 562 9341 | nbc.ymca.caInitiative: Works independently, making decisions and executing work with minimal support, in anenvironment with many urgent and competing priorities.Work Environment: This position deals with multiple demands, deadlines and dealing with the day-to-dayinterruptions.Work involves a moderate amount of physical, mental and visual demands.Occasional evenings and weekends.QualificationsPost secondary diploma in Early Care and Learning or a related field or combination of educationand experience.Minimum 2 years’ experience in the development and leadership of an effective, engaged team.Experience in child care or youth programs.Physical ability to do the duties required.Satisfactory Criminal Record and Clear Vulnerable Sector Search.Three satisfactory professional references.Immunization record including TB test.Current Child Care First Aid & CPR -C Certification.Drivers License and reliable vehicle.Ability to work with other local organizations to move forward a vision and strategy to growquality, inclusive, affordable, diverse child care options.Knowledge of Indigenous culture and established connection to local elders and knowledgekeepers will be considered an asset.CompetenciesIn addition to bringing a commitment to YMCA vision and values, and an orientation to service, thecandidate should possess the following competencies:1.
