Job Description

Pace provides Real Estate Sales, Property Management, Strata Management and Renovation and Maintenance Services to residential, commercial and resource sector clients. We provide licensed, experienced, professional services to clients looking for that extra personal touch. We are a locally owned and operated with 35 plus years of experience.JOB SUMMARYThe Construction Foreman position is responsible for supervising a crew of carpenters and labourers at one or more of our job sites. They will be responsible for property repairs, maintenance and renovations including quotes, estimates, invoicing and follow-up.The position reports in to our Construction/Renovations Manager.Some travel will be required. Currently we operate in Prince George, Mackenzie and Fraser Lake with Mackenzie being the only overnight job site. We do try to minimize overnight travel and we rarely have overtime.Knowledge:

  • Advanced knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, building construction, home renovations, snow removal, landscaping preferred
  • Leadership best practices and principles
  • Must be familiar with all applicable health and safety legislation, have knowledge of any potential or actual danger to health or safety in the work place and have knowledge of appropriate actions to be taken to ensure the health and safety of staff
  • Ability to supervise staff, organize and schedule work functions and motivate a team of carpenters, helpers and labourers
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals and drawings related to equipment and systems
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (must be able to lift to 50 lbs.)
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of people
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Strong understanding of industrial best practices and trades an asset
  • Excellent customer service, computer and communication skills
  • Ability to be on call and work overtime when required
  • Ability to work independently
  • Positive attitude and customer service focused
  • Willingness to mentor and/or be mentored
Experience:
  • Three (3) years experience in a construction, renovation or property maintenance environment, preferably in a trade
  • Previous experience on a Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee an asset.
  • Previous experience with building systems an asset.
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean abstract
  • Must be able to pull a 20 flatdeck trailer
