  • Maternity Leave Locum*
This position would be from mid-September 2021 to the end of January 2022. The role includes full-scope family practice in a clinic and on-call hospital work. The clinic is located beside hospital (UHNBC) in Phoenix medical building. The clinic has three exam rooms with a patient panel of approximately 2000 patients, all age groups. There is not an expectation to do obstetrics in this position.This is a solo practice, with the job hours being full time, Monday to Thursday (Approx 8:30am - 4:30pm). There is one long-term locum that works Wednesday and Thursday and another one that works Friday. This role would see the successful locum cover all hospital inpatients and long-term care patients, as well as regular clinic patients. This role is part of call group so there is group coverage for weekends and week nights.UHNBC is the Regional Hospital for Northern BC serving both the immediate population of Prince George (approximately 80,000) and is a referral center for outlying communities (total population approximately 400,000). It is the main teaching center for medical students in the Northern Medical Program of UBC and provides teaching for UBC Residents in several specialties. The BC Cancer Centre for the North is on the hospital site and includes both radiation and medical oncology services. The ongoing development of UHNBC as a regional center and teaching center makes this an exciting time to join the medical community in Prince George.Prince George is the centre of business, education, health and culture for northern BC, servicing an approx. rural population of approx. 400,000 over an area of 600,000 square kilometers.
