Job Description

Tidewater has immediate openings for multiple Process Operators at our NEW Hydrogen Derived Renewable Diesel facility currently under construction.* These are full-time positions based in Prince George, BC *operating a NEW,first of its kind in Canada, Renewable Diesel refinery.Tidewater Midstream and Infrastructure Ltd. publicly listed with a business objective to build a diversified midstream and infrastructure company in the North American natural gas, natural gas liquids and crude oil, refined product, and renewable space. Its strategy is to profitably grow and create shareholder value through the acquisition and development of oil and gas infrastructure. Tidewater plans to achieve its business objective by providing customers with a full service, vertically integrated value chain, including gas plants, pipelines, railcars, export terminals, storage, downstream facilities, and various renewable initiatives.The Process Operators will be responsible for the safe operation of the Tidewater Prince George HDRD facility. This includes the operation of rotating equipment, pumps, compressors, pressure vessels and control panel consoles for the Pre-treatment, renewable diesel and renewable hydrogen units. Additionally, you will be directly involved in walk downs, commissioning, start-up, operation, and shutdown narratives. The role will require operators to work 37.33 hours per week in all weather conditions, transitioning into a 12-hour rotating shift schedule when the facility is online. These positions will require individuals who are able to work independently, follow instructions, provide updates and feedback to the team in a timely manner.Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Preparing essential documentation such as commissioning protocols, checklists, ISO sheets, etc.
  • Carry out quality control reviews of design documents, functional descriptions, and control philosophies.
  • Develop operating standards and procedures for new process equipment or process units.
  • Participating in and completing required training to achieve a high level of understanding and competency.
  • Break out systems and walk downs utilizing P&ID’s.
  • Participate in site acceptance tests and performance tests.
  • Become proficient in DCS operation through process simulation.
  • Identify all process piping with labels.
  • Become proficient in process flows through P&ID’s and equipment walkdowns.
  • Operate and monitor all utilities such as the Instrument air system, reverse osmosis, and package boiler.
  • Prepare plant equipment for maintenance, as well as issue work permits and ensure their safe completion.
  • Complete and log all relevant actions as per Daily Orders, daily maintenance schedule, etc. by requested date. This includes routine maintenance and housekeeping duties
  • Perform safe operations to meet production targets by monitoring process variables & equipment parameters to identify abnormal conditions and carry out appropriate changes.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain air compressors, sludge pumps, and chemical pumps of various types.
  • Act as First Response in handling of emergency situations as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Grade 12 Diploma
  • 4th Class Steam Certificate
  • 3rd Class Steam Certificate is considered an asset
  • Valid safety certificates (Confined Spaced Entry, Fall Protection, H2S Alive)
  • Training and experience in working at height, and in confined spaces using permit and LOTO systems
Experience:
  • 5 – 10 years working in the Oil and Gas industry
  • Previous Operating experience in a Refinery or Upgrader is considered an asset
  • Experience with operating utilities or process equipment is considered an asset
  • Delta V experience is considered an asset.
