Job Description

** This position is located in Vanderhoof, BC**Infant Development Consultant – Job Posting # 2022-050Location: Based in Vanderhoof, BC and serving Vanderhoof and Fraser Lake, BCHours of Work: Full time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30pm; unless otherwise required by programming or client service delivery, equaling 37.5 hours per week.Vacancies: 1 Position AvailableClosing Date: Until FilledSalary: $33.83 – $41.32/hour as per CSSEA & CSSBA Collective Agreement (Grid Level 14P)Job SummaryThrough evidence-based interventions, consultations, and education, the Infant Development Program (IDP) is designed to assist families to encourage their child’s development. IDP is a family-centered, home based, program that serves children from birth to three years of age.The Infant Development Consultant will provide services for infants with, or at risk for developmental delay and will work with their families to optimize their child’s development. The Consultant will work using a family-centered model while promoting inclusion and participation in community-based activities.Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to child development
  • At least 2 years’ recent related experience is required,
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Knowledge of relevant socio-historical events relevant to Indigenous culture.
  • Must be sensitive to and respectful of cultural differences, differences in socio-economic status and lifestyle diversity. Must be non-judgmental.
  • Use of computer, various operating systems, and applications (MS Office Suite)
  • Demonstrated ability to teach skills and work effectively with others.
  • Ability to work effectively with other professionals in the agency and in the community
  • Knowledge of group process and facilitation techniques.
Required:
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license & satisfactory drivers abstract
  • Criminal Record Check clearance
  • COVID19 Fully Vaccinated (2 shots) required
  • This position requires union membership
