BC Assessment is currently looking for a permanent Property Information Collector in our Prince George, BC location . We also have temporary opportunities available. This position supports the assessment function by collecting physical, economic, legal and related data on assigned property types and performs administrative functions related to the production of the annual assessment roll. This critical role may involve travel of up to 6-12 weeks per year, depending on location. Learn more about Property Assessment !Key responsibilities include :
  • Roll Preparation and Defense: Performing inspections, inventory/information, collecting and inputting property information into database;
  • Checking document accuracy, analysing and updating home documentation, responding to inquiries;
  • Receiving building plan/sketches, tracking and entering incoming responses received, assisting and supporting the appeal process;
  • General Administration: Mail distribution and preparation, reconciling invoices, tracking property, documentation;
  • Updating address changes, filing, using different software’s to format and keyboard documentation,
  • Developing spreadsheets, graphs, charts, forms and PDFs, contributing to administrative improvements and changes;
  • Quality Assurance: Verifying ownership information and data, reviewing and verifying accuracy of vendor or property information;
  • Customer Service and Other Duties: Answering or referring questions, aiding clients with the completion of forms and applications by explaining and instructing clients with various programs, receiving and tracking enquires from property owners, functioning as a customer service representative to property owners and others.
To be successful in this role :You need to be a detail-orientated individual that can interpret and record data. You are competent in written and verbal communications, as well as have excellent customer service. You understand virtual collaboration tools and computer applications. You can work effectively within a team and take direction well. You also like adventure, possess a valid BC Driver’s license and are excited about exploring new areas within BC.This position is included in the bargaining unit.   • Location : Prince George, BC
  • Compensation : $22.7168 - $26.7254 hourly
  • Competition Close Date : Sunday, January 23rd @ 11:59PM
Education
  • Completion of Grade 12 (High School Diploma).
  • Possess a valid BC Drivers License (Class 5 or 7).
  • Post-secondary business courses and training in computer software and hardware would be an asset.
  • Courses such as building construction, assessment/appraisal, surveying, AutoCAD and/or engineering, or other related disciplines would be an asset.
Experience
  • Some experience in building construction, drafting, estimating, real estate, AutoCAD or other allied field would be an asset.
  • Relevant customer service experience would be an asset.
  • Clerical experience would be an asset.
