Numéro d #39;offre 12825Période d #39;affichage June, 21 to September 30, 2023 Workplace Department of Operations and Decision SystemsFaculty of Business Administration General information More than a school, Université Laval is an entire community in the heart of Quebec City, a complete university recognized for its culture of excellence both in teaching and research.Job Description The ideal candidate for this position possesses scientific and professional skills in data analysis and quantitative methods applicable to operations management and decision systems or a related field. Skills in statistical and probabilistic foundations of data analysis and applied statistics in management are required. Additionally, expertise in optimization or predictive and prescriptive analytics is considered an asset. The candidate is actively engaged in research, has a strong publication record, possesses a good understanding of management and organizations, and has an interest in teaching statistics and quantitative methods for business.Candidates for this position must hold a Ph.D. in the relevant field before the start date. As teaching activities are conducted in French, the selected person must be able to express themselves in written and oral French or make necessary arrangements to do so within a maximum of 3 years after the start date. Responsibilities include research and teaching of quantitative methods at the undergraduate, master #39;s, and doctoral levels.Selection criterias The candidate must:

  1. Hold a Ph.D. before the start date.
  2. Demonstrate excellent research ability and research interests compatible with those of the Department of Operations and Decision Systems, and provide a strong publication record and a statement of future research.
  3. Be capable of teaching at all three levels, supervising doctoral theses, master #39;s theses and essays, participating in industry internships, grant applications, and continuing education activities.
  4. Be able to express themselves in written and oral French or make necessary arrangements to do so within a maximum of 3 years after the start date.
  5. Demonstrate, during a presentation of their work to department members, the ability to effectively communicate the results of their research in data analysis and quantitative methods, explaining their scientific significance and contribution to organizational management.
  6. Demonstrate, during a presentation to department members, the ability to deliver pedagogically sound teaching in data analysis and quantitative methods.
  7. Have a good understanding of management and organizations.
