Learn more at www.adm.com.Position: Production Superintendent – Full Time Exempt level positionCandiac, QC, CanadaThe ADM Candiac Facility is seeking a Production Superintendent to help manage and maintain the plant efficiencies and improve its processes. The candidate will manage 6 supervisors as direct reports as well as over 50 hourly colleagues in production.Responsibilities:Candidate will work in the plant environment and is expected to initiate work based on general instructions from management. The physical requirements of the job requires ability to climb stairs, work in hot environment, prolonged periods of standing and sitting, computer work, meeting deadlines, providing calculated information, project management, and budgeting.Experience & Skills:Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Mechanical/Food/Ag Engineering or equivalent experience preferred.Minimum 3+ years of experience in plant operations/project work, food processing, starch processing or flour milling experience preferred.Demonstrated participation and leadership in plant safety programs (VBS) and process hazard analysis.Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage personnel, budgets, schedules, and other resources.Excellent communication skills – both oral and detailed written are needed to be effective in this position. Resources to manage include supervisors, production personnel, contractors, and contractor/vendor relationships.Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively interact with multiple employees, management personnel and other stakeholders. Interpersonal skills employed include handling conflict, motivating, instructing and training personnel in a fair, honest and direct way.The candidate must be able to utilize independent judgment to solve problems, have excellent organizational skills to effectively handle multiple ongoing tasks and strive for continuous improvement.Technical competence in engineering and related systems such as: pneumatic conveying, dust control, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, controls, and utilities.General knowledge of software systems such as Maximo, Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Access, Word, and SharePoint) is a plus.Provide technical support for development of SOP’s, waste treatment operations, and general process trouble shooting.Relocation assistance is available with this position.This position offers a complete benefit package including retirement, health, life, vision and dental insurance.ADM is committed to Employment Equity and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
