Required QualificationsActive membership with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) or Active membership with the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA) Diploma in Health Information Management or Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) designationExperienceSix months of experience within the last three (3) years coding in a Cancer Registry department OR have passed their probationary period in Cancer Registry as a Cancer Registrar I or a Cancer Registrar II If no such applicant found, applicants with One (1) year of experience as a Health Information Practitioner (HIP) may be considered.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to coordinate and periodically assume responsibility for work over othersAbility to interpret detailed information and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.Ability to operate all types of office equipment.Accuracy of fine motor movements required for typing and sorting chartsCompetent in use of a variety of softwareDemonstrated medical knowledge Demonstrates commitment to continuing professional development.Human relations skills required to exercise common courtesy, tact, and diplomacy in the exchange of informationMaintain confidentiality.Moderate Judgment aFor more information on this job, please visit the employer #39;s website.
