The ministry facilitates a coordinated cross-government approach to attract investment and grow export markets. The Ministry of Trade and Export Developments International Relations Branch is seeking a Director, International Relations, who is innovative, accountable, and strategic with a strong understanding of Saskatchewan #39;s key priorities, and the ability to develop and implement international engagement strategies for the province of Saskatchewan.As the Director, International Relations you will:- Lead a team of Sr. International Relations Officers to develop, implement and monitor short- and long-term international strategies and initiatives to attract, expand and promote trade and investment in the province of Saskatchewan; - Research, develop and create briefing materials to prepare for incoming and outgoing delegations and diplomatic missions; - Initiate, build, and maintain strategic partnerships by facilitating information, communication and knowledge sharing with key partners and stakeholders; - Manage all aspect of the International Relations Unit including coaching and mentoring a team of employees and establishing effective processes and procedures for this unit. The successful candidate must be a team player, able to both lead and collaborate, with a reputation for integrity and a focus on service excellence and innovation in their work. Knowledge of government decision making processes would be an asset.Typically, the knowledge and skills required in this position would be obtained through the completion of a university degree in Public Policy, Business Administration, International Relations or a related discipline, and several years of experience in a related field.
