THE OPPORTUNITY AWAITS YOUREAL finds itself in the enviable position of managing one of the most interesting and versatile connected spaces in North America with an opportunity to impact the lives of millions by creating life-long memories and delivering exceptional experiences.Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Fixed Assets and Maintenance and receiving task assignments from the Maintenance Planner, the Electrician performs a wide variety of electrical tasks as it relates to large and small event set-up and teardown, building systems maintenance, repair, upgrades, and decommissioning.A significant portion of time is spent installing and removing temporary power for events.Work takes place in any one of 10 buildings and outdoors contained within the 101-acre site operated by REAL.Most work takes place indoors, however working outdoors is required from time to time.WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Provides all electrical distributions and control systems necessary for REAL facilities.
  • Responsible to setup portable or temporary wiring for special events or tradeshows. Install, service, repair, and maintain a variety of electrical equipment and controls including lighting circuits, conduit and duct systems, transformers, and other types of electrical power equipment.
  • Repair and replace switches, receptacles, and circuit breakers.
  • Install and maintain fluorescent lights, ballasts, and fixtures.
  • Install and maintain automated systems including parking lot lights, emergency lights,
  • Assist other trades workers with electrical repairs and installation.
  • Troubleshoot and repair short circuits, power failures, and other electrical problems.
  • Repair a variety of electrical tools and equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, etc.
  • Maintain records on time and materials and assist with preparation of cost estimates for repairs and new projects.
  • Inspect and test various electrical systems for proper function.
  • Knowledge of installing, repairing and operating building electrical and emergency power generation systems.
  • Operate a variety of tools and power equipment required in the trade.
  • Other duties as assigned.May be required to perform non-typical electrician duties.(EX: assist the mechanic or carpenter)
Work hours are Monday - Friday: 8am - 4.30pm. However work hours may change based on operational needs.RequirementsWHAT IT TAKESApply today if you meet the following requirements:
  • Grade twelve (12) education
  • Must have Journeyman Electrician License.
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Fall Protection Certificate
  • Mobile Elevated Platform Certificate
  • Refrigeration Engineer certificate is an asset.
  • Fireman’s (Steam Boilers) certificate is an asset.
  • Valid Driver’s License must be held and maintained for this position.
  • Possess, utilize, and share electrical knowledge openly and freely with maintenance team.
  • Understand electrical terms, materials, methods, tools, and equipment used in the inspection, repair, installation, service, and maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains electrical control circuits for motors and control devices for various electrical devices.
  • Capable of calculating electrical load requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code.
  • Good communication and reading skills.
