Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITY AWAITS YOUREAL finds itself in the enviable position of managing one of the most interesting and versatile connected spaces in North America with an opportunity to impact the lives of millions by creating life-long memories and delivering exceptional experiences.As a Ground Patrol you will be responsible for the safety and protection of REAL assets including REAL staff and guests. Ensuring that the campus grounds are monitored and building checks are done regularly. Reporting any disturbances, and to ensure that property is protected against vandalism and damage. Responsible to enforce parking, which includes ticket writing where needed. Responsible to supervise staff when a designated supervisor not on duty. Respond to incidents and manage response to emergency situations, criminal activity, and other major events. Mitigates risk to the campus to ensure life safety and operational continuity.WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
  • Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.
  • Responds to incidents and acts as an on-scene Incident Commander for all emergencies, and events on campus, working in a unified command capacity with local police, fire, and emergency health services agencies. Provides information and recommendations to the Command Centre.
  • Maintaining organization #39;s stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
  • Maintaining detailed reporting on all events and proper incident reporting
  • Providing excellent customer service to guests, employees, and the public by offering assistance where needed, finding balance, and neutralizing high stress situations.
*This is a casual position and hours are not guaranteed. Schedules will be made according to operational needs.*RequirementsWHAT IT TAKESApply today if you meet the following requirements:
  • Must be nineteen (19) years of age.
  • Grade twelve (12) education is required.
  • Must have valid Serve-It-Right (SIRs) certification.
  • Working knowledge of computers and various programs
  • Works well with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated experience in customer experience would be an asset.
  • Formal training and/or work experience in the field of security services or crowd control is considered an asset.
  • Able to walk/stand for 8+ hours.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, along with established decision-making skills required.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others.
  • May work odd or long hours at a time to complete operational requirements, projects or to participate in or coordinate evening and off-hour activities.
  • Possess a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check for the duration of employment.
  • Note that this position is an in-scope position under the RWDSU Collective Agreement.
