Information Services facilitates learning, teaching, research and effective University administration through knowledgeable staff who deliver service and technology on an on-going basis throughout the University community.Reporting directly to the Manager of Information Security, you will play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing our information security framework. Be part of a team that shapes a secure future for the University of Regina.Position RequirementsWhat You’ll Bring to the Position:Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or EngineeringFive years of related IT experience.An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered; andInformation security certifications such as Cisco CCNA Cyber Ops, ISC2 SSCP, GIAC GSEC, CompTIA Security+ or equivalent are preferred. Ability and willingness to obtain certifications within the first year may also be accepted.Skills That Will Ensure Your Success in this Role:Demonstrated knowledge of IT, industry security standards and best practices, legal and regulatory requirements as it pertains to information security, risk management, and common security controls;Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member in a collaborative team environment;Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail;Previous experience with SIEM tools, intrusion detection systems, firewalls, monitoring tools, antivirus and identity and access management;Experience participating in IT projects, preferably in a University environment; and,The ability to work occasional flex time to perform incident responses outside of normal business hours.
