We are seeking an experienced accounting and tax professional to join our team as the Manager, Taxation. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual corporate tax provision calculations for reporting purposes. They will also conduct the review of tax returns for the company and certain subsidiaries, provide support during tax audits and reviews by the tax authorities.Key Responsibilities:As first point of contact, consults, and corresponds with tax auditors on any audit queries or subsequent reassessments.Works to advance the company’s filing positions and minimize interest and penalties.Reviews tax provisions prepared by others.Completes the more complex portion of the provision, including intercompany reporting requirements.Prepares or assists in preparation of transfer pricing documentation.Responsible for all GST, HST and PST ensuring that monthly returns are completed on a timely basis, ensuring that taxes are recaptured correctly on the returns.Lead, coach and manage the team to ensure excellence, awareness and commitment to the client, team and the department’s goals and objectives. Participates in the development of short- and medium-term strategic plans.Participates in the development and management of operating and capital budgets.Develops and delivers training programs related to tax policies and changes therein.Participates in due diligence of potential company transactions (acquisitions or dispositions), including performing research and analysis as required.The ideal candidate will possess:A Post secondary degree in accounting with designation, such as CPA, and an in-depth tax course.Minimum of eight (8) years’ progressively responsible experience in an accounting role and knowledge of corporate tax.Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with internal and external customers, colleagues, and agencies.Computer proficient with demonstrated ability to use SAP financial or similar financial software as well as advanced spreadsheet software within a Windows-based environment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Equivalent combinations of education and experience that result in the required level of knowledge skill and competence will be considered.Employment Type: RegularPosting Close Date:12/19/2023
