The Sector Management and Relations Branch of the Ministry of Advanced Education is seeking a highly motivated, organized, detail/results-oriented, experienced policy analyst. This position will support two distinct units as follows: Quality Assurance Unit:Administer The Degree Authorization Act and its regulations.Develop policies and strategic approaches related to quality assurance in higher education.Oversee the degree authorization process.Provide secretarial support to the Saskatchewan Higher Education Quality Assurance Board (SHEQAB) in its quality assurance function related to the degree authorization process.Coordinate quality assurance reviews.Monitor ministry-authorized degree programs.Private Vocational Schools (PVS) Unit: Administer The Private Vocational Schools Regulation Act, 1995 and its regulations. Develop policies and strategic approaches that protect students and ensure private vocational schools are financially stable and deliver quality programs and instruction in a safe and supportive environment. Ensure the PVS Administrationamp; Policy Manual and forms adhere to the legislation, its regulations, and the new Private Vocational Schools Registry (PVSR, a web-based system). Advance the role of private vocational schools in the larger post-secondary sector. The position requires a person who can understand and apply specialized legislation, is able to consult and collaborate with stakeholders in and outside of government, analyze and develop evidence-based policies and strategic plans that support students, the post-secondary sector, the government’s regulatory oversight role, as well as advance ministry priorities.You will possess superior organizational, research, analytical, policy development and writing skills. You will work with internal and external committees and stakeholder groups in collaborative, consultative and educational roles. Excellent critical thinking, oral/written communication skills (English), and attention to detail are essential.
