Community Recreation CoordinatorTemporary (Canada Summer Jobs)Regina, SKCompensation: $15.20 / hourReports to: Manager, Programsamp; Operations Join us in our mission to change what it is to be blind in Canada. We #39;re looking for a mission-driven Community Recreation Coordinator who is passionate about creating more accessible, inclusive, and equitable communities across Canada where people with low vision have unlimited opportunities and can experience life free from barriers and discrimination.Your Impact at CNIB

  • Working with program staff, coordinates in-person camp, an opportunity for the CNIB children and youth participants.
  • Assists in researching local community programs and events for participants to attend.
  • Builds partnerships with other organizations to ensure that programs are inclusive for blind and partially sighted individuals.
  • Provides information to the community regarding summer programming for youth and people with sight loss.
  • Assists with the planning and implementation of programming and special events for youth participants with sight loss, who are blind or deafblind.
  • Assists and provides guidance for individuals participating in the CNIB programming.
  • Assists program staff with volunteer recruitment and training
  • Tracks attendance of program participants.
  • Executes invitation calls and follow-up calls to participants.
  • Administrative responsibilities in support of CNIB operations including answering calls and responding to in-person inquiries involving client service, special events and programming.
  • Performs general administrative duties as required including working with program expenses
  • Increases education and awareness of CNIB (volunteer opportunities, general public awareness, advocacy) through various communication channels, including social media, and community engagement.
RequirementsWho you are:Education and Certifications
  • Attended full time University/College or Senior High School in the past academic year.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office 365 applications and experience working in databases.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Customer Service experience an asset.
  • Experience working with disabilities an asset.
  • Applicants will require a police record check prior to offer of employment.
  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
  • Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
  • Be a Canadian citizens, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
