Job Description

RoleRising Edge is seeking Journeyman Electricians, this position is a full-time permanent position based out of our Regina office and will involve working with different clients throughout Saskatchewan. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the role of Journeyman Electrician is to perform maintenance, upgrading and installation of equipment in 13.8kV to 500 kV substations across multiple different sectors (Utility, Renewable, and Industrial) Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain different electrical systems, faulty equipment and apparatus.
  • Installation of structural steel and buried utilities.
  • Operation of construction equipment such as skid steer, mini hoe, manlifts, and zoombooms.
  • Comply with Rising Edge Technologies Ltd.’s Health and Safety Manual and industry safety regulations.
  • Operate within industrial work environments and settings.
  • Work in proximity to energized power and control systems.
  • Provide effective instruction, mentorship, and coaching to electrical apprentices and team members, promoting safe and efficient task execution.
  • Prioritize safety while working in a dynamic environment.
  • Lead installation and facilitate planning of ground grids, assembly of power system equipment, cabling and wiring
  • Engage in client field audits and inspection activities.
  • Ensure correct installation applications and compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code.
  • Maintain documentation related to construction, maintenance, and quality control.
  • Familiarize yourself with, adhere to, and enforce Rising Edge’s Personnel and Safety policies.
  • Perform additional assigned tasks that fall within your training.
Schedules can range from 4 days on 4 days off, 8 days on and 6 days off, etc.10-hour days (7:00 am to 5:30pm). Overtime paid at time and a half after 10 hours in a day as well as after 40 hours in a week.Travel time to and from site will be paid at base rate, and travel provided by employer from Regina per project requirements.All travel arrangements and accommodations are expertly handled by the company when required to work out of town. Rising Edge will arrange all transportation to and from the site, book all individual accommodations and provide a daily LOA (tax free).RequirementsQualifications
  • Valid and recognized Journeyman Electrician Certificate
  • Thorough knowledge of the Electrical Utility Code (E.U.C Safety Codes Act) and Occupational Health and Safety rules as they relate to the Electrician role
  • Experience in High voltage and substations is considered an asset
  • Have a valid Provincial Class 5 driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Must meet pre-access Drugamp; Alcohol testing requirements
  • Must be able to work comfortably at heights
  • Ability and willingness to work out of town
  • Able to work in adverse weather conditions.

  • Demonstrate problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work within strict deadlines.
  • Must show that you can work in a safe manner with respect to the environment, health and safety issues in the workplace.
