Equipment Operator - VEH002632Employment Type: Expression of Interest for SGEU Term less than 9 monthsLocation(s): SK-Central West-RosetownMinistry: 016 HighwaysSalary Range: $24.107-$30.214 HourlyGrade: SGEU.06.The Ministry of Highways, North Battleford District Operations, is seeking an Equipment Operator for the Kindersley Section located in Eston. As a member of the Section Crew, you will operate, service, and maintain heavy equipment such as tandem trucks with hydrodrum, spinner, and snowplow attachments; motor graders and front-end loaders.You will perform various highway maintenance functions in the summer and snow/ice removal in the winter months. You will keep records and logs of hours of operation, repairs, and amounts of materials applied to highways and, in the absence of the supervisor, you may be assigned supervisory responsibilities.You will work under extreme and changing climate conditions and must be willing to travel and work flexible hours. You must be able and willing to work in physically-demanding conditions and perform physical labour, heavy lifting, and climbing. As a member of a team that ensures public safety, you will have the opportunity to work with new and advanced technologies and equipment.To qualify for this position, you must hold a valid Class 1A licence.The successful candidate will have knowledge of proper procedures for operation, maintenance, and servicing of heavy-duty motor equipment such as a motor grader/tandem truck as well as heavy equipment mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, fuel, and lubrication systems.Candidates must be able to perform the duties of this position in a safe manner.
