Equipment Operator - VEH002871Employment Type: Permanent Full-timeLocation(s): SK-Central West-RosetownMinistry: 016 HighwaysSalary Range: $24.107 - $30.214 HourlyGrade: SGEU.06.The Ministry of Highways, Traffic Guidance, is seeking a permanent full-time Equipment Operator for the Swift Current Sign Crew headquartered in Rosetown.Under the supervision of the Area Manager, you will operate and maintain motor equipment used for sign installation on the Provincial Highway System. You will assist in the assembly, installation and maintenance of single and double post signs, as well as in the assembly, installation and maintenance of I-Beam and overhead structures. You will also perform various highway sign maintenance functions including sign face replacements and perform other duties as assigned by the Traffic Guidance Manager.The successful candidate should have knowledge of and experience with the operation of heavy duty motor equipment; routine equipment maintenance; appropriate and safe use of hand and power tools to assemble and install signs; and computer spreadsheets, databases, and word processing programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.) They should also be a team player who is conscientious and reliable.This position involves extensive travel throughout the province requiring the individual to be away from home up to five days a week, working in extreme and changing climate conditions.Candidates must possess a valid Class 3A drivers license. Digger/Derrick certification would be an asset.Candidates must be able to perform the duties of this position in a safe manner.
