Job DescriptionReporting to the Director of Transportation and Logistics, the role of the Fleet Manager will be to manage, maintain and renew two growing transportation fleets of over 200 pieces of equipment in 6 terminals in Canada and the United States.Essential functions and responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the preventive maintenance schedule;
  • Manage mechanical breakdowns on the road;
  • Ensure compliance of all equipment with the various government authorities in Canada and the United States;
  • Manage service and pricing agreements with suppliers;
  • Review of equipment specifications with manufacturers and implementation of new technologies to improve efficiency, productivity and safety of the fleet;
  • Management of warranties and claims with suppliers;
  • Manage space rental agreements and ensure the implementation of a secure infrastructure for each of our terminals;
  • Monitoring of the maintenance budget;
  • Establish the maintenance strategy in line with the companys growth objectives;
  • Take charge of parts, tires and consumables inventories;
  • Implementation of the fleet energy transition strategy
  • Sale of equipment at the end of its useful life
Qualifications
  • 3 years experience in fleet management of class 8 trucks;
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office suite and experience in the use of fleet management software and telematics tools;
  • Strong interest in alternative energy technologies (EV, natural gas, hydrogen);
  • Knowledge of Law 430 and FMCSA regulations;
  • Bilingualism, oral and written;
  • Excellent ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and good priority management;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong ability to adapt;
  • Ability to communicate effectively;
  • Ability to work in a team and results oriented;
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time during each year;
  • Experience with flatbed trailers (asset);
  • Class 1 drivers license and experience as a truck driver (asset)
