  • Minimum 3+ years of professional tax preparation experience with tax software
  • Prepared a minimum of 125 tax returns per tax season for the last 3 years
  • Experience in preparing various federal and provincial tax returns for individuals, including students, pensioners, self-employed individuals, rental property owners, investors, and those with foreign income
  • Experience in preparing customer personal tax returns from start to finish, including employment income, self-employment income, rental income, investments, T1135, foreign income, and all credits and deductions
  • Knowledge of tax laws and concepts, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable with Windows, mobile platforms, and G-suite applications (Docs, Sheets, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible availability/schedule
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French (reading, writing, and speaking) is an asset
  • Experience in preparing Quebec tax (TP1) returns is an asset
  • Experience providing support in a contact center environment is an asset
Your Responsibilities:
  • Provide tax guidance for personal tax returns in a remote, seasonal, and customer-facing role
  • Collaborate with customers to prepare or review their tax returns, ensuring compliance and accuracy through tax guidance and preparation services
  • Research and troubleshoot tax questions, providing specific tax advice to customers (written and oral)
  • Provide full-service assistance for preparing, reviewing, filing customer returns with the CRA, or guiding customers as they prepare their own tax returns with tax advice, preparation, and guidance on required documents
  • Stay up-to-date with tax regulations to provide accurate advice on maximizing customer tax returns
  • Create positive customer interactions and experiences by empathetically using deep knowledge and expertise to instill confidence
  • Proactively seek and deliver accurate answers to customer inquiries, utilizing government websites, resources, and team expertise and translating complex information into everyday language
  • Resolve customer inquiries by applying defined practices, procedures, and company policies
