Job Description

Academic and Professional Qualifications: Professional Study Diploma in Electromechanical. Any other equivalent combination of the required qualifications will be considered.Job Profile: The candidates must be able to repair, modify and perform the final precision assembly of any type or mechanical, electromechanical and hydraulic system parts according to the conditions, criteria and details required for the position.RequirementsSkills: The candidates must principally demonstrate the following skills:

  • Interpret mechanical assembly plans, circuit and hydraulic diagrams, and assess the operation of the circuit (using detail drawings, illustrations showing an assembly method and work procedures (aeronautics)).
  • Assemble mechanical, electromechanical and hydraulic systems based on instructions, assembly drawings, system subassemblies, components and appropriate raw materials.
  • Perform manual bench machining operations or on conventional machine tools (e.g. measure, rivet, saw, drill, file, rectify, thread, remove screws, bolts and threads, use a pipe-bending machine and rotate wire bobbins (AIMS)).
  • Calculate the thickness of shims required to meet the geometric tolerances (runout, parallelism, coaxially) of the drawings.
  • Use precision instruments to measure and control parts of various shapes (e.g. micrometer, vernier scale, microscope and electronic measuring devices).
  • Be familiar with precision standards.
  • Be familiar with occupational health and safety standards, especially WHMIS.
Practical Experience: A minimum of 6 months of relevant experience.Selection: The candidates selected to fill the vacancies will be chosen on the basis of their seniority provided that they are willing, that they meet the requirements of the posting, and that they are able to perform the work relating to the position satisfactorily. The candidates must be members of the Union. Functional knowledge of French is required.
