Job Description

Position: Project Manager, Nuclear decommissioning Location: Cambridge, ON/Pinawa, MBType of Employment: Fulltime-ContractDuration: 12+monthClient: Nuclear Construction We are looking for a Project Manager, Manufacturing, Testing and Operations to help us expand our presence with our clients in the Nuclear Industry. We seek Project Professionals who will align with our corporate mission, visionamp; values:Roleamp; Responsibilities:· Coordinates prompt resolution of field problems and issues regarding safety, non-conformance reports, condition reports, stop work orders, and correct action reports.· Define and monitor daily work packages and progress reports measuring progress against the plan.· Schedule and monitor subcontractors and suppliers to ensure they are delivering to schedule.· Coordinate and provide progress reporting of project management activities including financial, schedule, communications, procurement, risk, and issues through duration of a project.· Maintain reports including, site, production, time keeping, daily field work, work package sign offs.· Manage the cost, schedule, scope, and technical performance of a portfolio as defined in the Performance Baseline.· Ensure that work is performed safely and in compliance with requirements of the Site License and Facility Authorization.· Responsible for applying the Decommissioning QA Program requirements, and its supporting procedures, in project activities.· Proactively manage the personnel performing the scope of work.· Implement project management including responsibility to plan, control and monitor the execution of all project work.· Provide exceptional reporting and communication on project status, with emphasis on resolving issues and correcting variances to plans.· Initiate and maintain productive relationships with internal service providers (e.g., Skilled Trades, Engineering, Radiation Protection, Strategic Planning, Nuclear Facilities, Procurement, and compliance/regulatory programs).· Hold budget responsibility for work.· Ensure appropriate execution of the project and oversee management of contracts to deliver Project.· Maintains confidentiality in all matters.Qualifications / Requirements:· University degree in engineering from a university in recognized standing; or other related advanced degree may be considered.· A PMP or similar designation is an asset.· A minimum of ten years’ experience in nuclear decommissioning and/or project management including experience leading Project Management teams and /or Project Portfolios.· Experience in radioactive waste management, preferably in a decommissioning environment.· Experience and technical background sufficient to lead the planning and execution of nuclear waste retrievals and processing.· Demonstrated experience interpreting and understanding of complex project schedules.· Robotic and or remotely operated equipment experience is an asset.· Aptitude to interpret and analyze project data, clearly summarize the information, and make recommendations to the client Lead, organize, and coordinate the scoping, planning and execution of all work occurring on site.· Demonstrated strong communications and problem-solving skills to provide solutions and coordinate project resources to maintain successful working relations at all levels within the organization and external stakeholders.· Authoritatively influences and leads resources assigned to the project with various backgrounds to achieve successful project outcomes.· Established strong leadership skills, to support and articulate the organizations vision/mission at all levels and have a proven ability to achieve results through others; quality assurance built into the results.· Resolves highly complex, specialized and/or significant technical issues across the department, potentially the division.· Skilled to coordinate time with multiple issues and project.· Initiative and judgement to organize and maintain flow of work and accuracy of records.· Punctual, dependable and safety minded.· Detail oriented coupled with ability to meet deadlines.· Exceptional organizational skills to prioritize and time manage.· Ability to comprehend detailed information is essential.· Ability to adapt to a changing environment and respond with initiative.· Excellent interpersonal communication skills and proven ability and· Highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.· Familiar with developing site waste management plans and directing the development of long-range forecasts for all waste activities, including characterization, packaging, survey, transport and disposal of radioactive waste, hazardous waste, mixed waste, recycle waste, on-site material management (e.g., soil stockpiling), wastewater management and municipal waste management.· Good understanding of change management and contract management concepts.· Familiarity with various elements of project management systems and the tools used to plan, implement, track, and report on project performance.· Previous knowledge / experience with the workings and products of Primavera scheduling software, formal risk management frameworks and project scope breakdown and cost account structures would be beneficial.· Remote operated equipment, robotic equipment, and other types of complex mechanical equipment operations and maintenance.
