Job DescriptionTecho-Bloc is growing, and we are looking for a highly motivated team member with a go-getter, self-starter attitude to join our Procurement team. The Purchasing Supervisor will support the buyers at our Canadian sites in their day-to-day activities and will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of Raw Materials for production, as well as Parts & Services for our maintenance departments (MRO). The ideal candidate will have experience working in a dynamic and fast paced environment where needs are always changing. You will get the chance to challenge to status quo by managing multiple projects that will help Techo-Bloc in its quest for improvement.Responsibilities
  • Supervise the daily activities of the buyers for all Canadian Sites;
  • Provide training and ongoing support to team members and create training documents for on-boarding;
  • Review inventory levels and coordinate with team on replenishment strategies;
  • Provide guidance to team members on strategy and priorities;
  • Collaborate with other Techo-Bloc departments on procurement related needs;
  • Support project and continuous improvement efforts;
  • Assist in annual pricing review, supplier negotiations and supplier performance;
  • Evaluate and analyze purchasing and price trends to identify opportunities to minimize costs;
  • Maintain purchasing parameters in AX (trade agreements, supplier/part creation);
  • Proactive approach to deal with situations before they become roadblocks;
  • Thorough knowledge of purchasing functions, workflow, reports, tasks, etc.;
  • Escalation point for supplier issues, payables, etc.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, business, supply chain or other related fields;
  • 3+ years of relevant purchasing experience;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast and growing environment with many competing priorities and deadlines;
  • Proactive, solution-oriented and creative;
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft AX/D365 or similar ERP systems;
  • Excellent command of Office Suite including Excel;
  • Bilingualism orally and written.
