Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Adherence to legislated codes, safety practices, and personnel safety.
  • Direct installation of infrastructures, including machinery, equipment, electrical, mechanical systems, and facilities.
  • Design, sourcing, installation, and commissioning of capital projects.
  • Develop, manage, and report on the facility #39;s engineering budgets.
  • Manage direct reports and interns, providing engaging and quality work experiences.
  • Mentor Junior Engineer(s) and foster professional development in your peers.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with colleges and universities for intern and project resources.
  • Research funding opportunities and work cross-functionally to execute applicable applications and submit reports for successful funding programs.
  • Research current available technology and process improvement/automation opportunities for application in current and future processes.
  • Identify project scope, detailed costings, and return on investment for identified projects.
  • Technical assistance for installing, maintaining, and repairing infrastructure, including machinery, equipment, electrical and mechanical systems, and facilities.
  • Research, source, and order capital and automation project equipment and parts.
  • Provide technical issue resolution assistance to maintenance and operations departments.
  • Manage, in collaboration with the COO, long-term infrastructure improvement projects and risk assessments (HVAC, Facilities, Equipment).
  • Manage the identification and implementation of energy efficiency projects.
  • Participate in Senior Leadership Meetings.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in Applicable Engineering Discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, etc.)
  • 10+ years of applicable experience
  • Registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer with APEGNB.
  • Manufacturing industry experience required
  • Food manufacturing experience considered a strong asset
  • Professional project management designation would be considered an asset
  • Ability to lead projects from inception to completion using external and internal resources
  • Knowledge of the safety standards
  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and analytical skills are required
  • Strong leadership skills
  • The ability to work within a team environment to accomplish organizational goals
  • Ability to provide after hours support
  • Experience in public speaking and/or presentations
  • Skills: Capital, Reports, Engineering, Research, Safety
