Job Description

Qualified candidates will work in the regional office reporting to the Construction Manager. The candidate will work with and be mentored by other project managers and superintendents in the office. Extensive travel and extended time at project sites is normal for this role.

  • Project Manage contracts less than $5 million dollars.
  • Manages the execution of new equipment contracts from order booking through warranty.
  • Directs, plans and monitors resources for project completion, assessing manpower and material requirements.
  • Monitors project manager quotations of engineering and manufacturing lead times for proposals.
  • Conducts regular project review meetings to follow contract performance status.
  • Develops strategies for project margin improvement through order changes and reduction in costs.
  • Collaborates with sales and operations departments to obtain information needed to engineer and manufacture orders.
  • Provides support to sales through advisory input to proposals and presentations.
  • Works with sales department in negotiation of terms and conditions, order changes and potential warranty or backcharge items.
  • Assesses available technology for project management improvement.
  • Provides supervision for the project management, bill of material and drafting functions.
  • Bachelor #39;s degree in engineering, construction management or related field, or a minimum of 2-3 years of experience as an on-site Project Manager
  • Demonstrable knowledge of commercial construction trades and proven experience (even if minimal) in both project management and estimating disciplines
  • Managed the successful delivery of multiple, multi-year projects with less than 5M budgets, less than one year project timelines, and many stake holders
  • Experience in managing smaller projects involving engineering, procurement, and construction
  • Familiarity with Primavera scheduling tools or a willingness to learn
  • Speak, read, and write English, and French would be an asset
  • Familiarity with boilers and steam generating equipment or keen willingness to learn
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver #39;s license
  • Must be able to work according to our customers schedules which may include weekends / after hours.
  • Must be able to wear proper PPE for the job
  • Experience with, or a willingness to learn, equipment operations
  • Familiarity with ASME, NFPA and related codes, welding procedures
  • Ability to read, write, and understand contract language, contract drawings, and contract specifications
  • Ability to work as a team member on projects with an aptitude for problem solving
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Able to manage time effectively and prioritize responsibilities
  • Positive presence and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently, self-starter, and motivator
