You will use this information to create impactful stories and make recommendations to support business decisions to help shape the future of our company. Working closely within our Planning and Corporate Governance team, you will support the execution of initiatives and provide support leader across the organization. What you #39;ll need to succeed:

• Leverage financial knowledge and industry experience and stay engaged with the business to provide support.
• Lead operating areas and corporate centres through our Annual Business Planning process.
• Utilize various market intelligence tools to analyze and support the business; gaining as complete a picture as possible.
• Assist with the development and execution of detailed financial, operating, and initiative stewardship.
• Be a thinking partner to and develop relationships with business leaders by providing support on strategic and base business initiatives. Address the need for timely, informative, and actionable information to make decisions that will support strong business performance.
• Work with business lines to understand decision making needs; use research, market intelligence, and financial skills to meet these needs.
• Understand emerging opportunities, trends, and threats that could impact the organization in both the near and long term.
• Presentation preparation and facilitation of meetings with business leaders across the company to ensure a fact-based, risk aligned, market/customer back decision-making process.
• Develop and respond to ad hoc requests, projects, and other activities as required to support the company and business planning, ensuring compliance and governance.
• Coach and mentor junior employees.

• Able to translate information into a relevant story with insights to support successful business planning execution. Able to verify and support accuracy of data.
• Strong analytical, research, and reasoning skills.
• Strategic mindset with ability to plan.
• Comfortable questioning information you don #39;t understand.
• Good knowledge of financial systems, processes, and technology.
• Experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred.
• Good facilitation and presentation skills; strong oral and written communication.
• Excellent time management skills and able to meet multiple deadlines; can quickly reprioritize depending on business need.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to quickly build credibility and partnerships with stakeholders.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.

Travel

• Minimal travel is required for this position.

Education and experience

• Post-secondary education in business, economics, or equivalent experience; graduate level degree such as an MBA is an asset.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working in the oil and gas industry or relatable experience.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office applications; advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint.
• Strong knowledge of visual analytics platforms such as Power BI or Tableau a definite asset.
