WASTEWATER TREATMENT OPERATIONS SPECIALISTThe Opportunity:We are looking for a Wastewater Treatment Operations Specialist to join our Operations team at Lake Utopia Paper based in St. George, New Brunswick.Who We Are:Our team operates within highly technical, fast paced, competitive businesses and is part of an integrated forest products value chain under J.D. Irving, Limited (JDI). True leaders never stop learning and are never satisfied with the status quo.We operate four Pulp and Paper Mills out of Saint John and St. George, New Brunswick that produce a combined 1 Million Tonnes of Product and employ over 1000 employees.Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the Treatment Plant operates efficiently and meets all regulatory requirements
  • Monitor processes and work methods; and collect, compile, and analyze data to identify opportunities to improve Treatment Plant processes
  • Identifying and implementing department needs in terms of standards, training, lockout processes and improvement opportunities
  • Safety and environmental awareness
  • Will be willing to support the development of an engaged workforce with a focus on continuous improvement
You Have:
  • Bachelor #39;s Degree or 2 year completed diploma in a related field (Chemical Engineering, Environmental B.Sc, Chemical or Environmental Technology, etc.)
  • Experience with anaerobic and aerobic wastewater systems considered an asset
  • Knowledge of Pulp and Paper regulations, testing and monitoring considered an asset
  • Familiar with laboratory procedures and analysis
  • Work with and coordinate maintenance activities
  • Proven track record in performance and results
  • Familiar with computerized operations and administrative systems
