DESCRIPTIONAre you looking for an energizing and learning-centric work environment where you can contribute to transforming livesLook no further, Cégep St. Lawrence has a position for you!Cegep Champlain St. Lawrence is seeking a dynamic and organized Communication Counsellor for a full-time year contract with the possibility of becoming permanent.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESYou will create high-quality, strategic, and engaging content to support the communication objectives across the organization. You will propose the College’s communications strategy, set key metrics for its success, and oversee the strategy’s implementation across all communication platforms.You will be instrumental as project leader of the various events held on campus and ensure the maintenance and development of our relationships with the community and with our former students and employees. You will be the staff contact for all college communications including our website, social media, printed materials, and any other marketing products.This role is critical in supporting Cegep Champlain St. Lawrence’s mission to foster the individual success of its students and their development as well-rounded, responsible, and informed citizens of the world.Internal and external communications

  • Developing a communication strategy aligned with the Mission and Values of the College to support the student and employee experience.
  • Collaborate in the definition of employee branding.
  • In collaboration with the Assistant of the Director of the Constituent College / Director of Studies, participate in the Colleges visibility and outreach efforts in the community by updating and maintaining our various platforms and social media;
  • Participate in the updating and production of our Prospectus (Viewbook) or any other promotional document;
  • Support the management team and various departments in their communication efforts.
  • Edits written materials developed by staff when intended for external audiences
Organization and support during events
  • Act as project manager for events such as Open house, Graduation, Welcome days, and any other important activity held on campus;
  • Coordinate and participate in the students’ recruitment in high schools.
Media and public relations
  • Manage media relations and develop contacts with media members, key stakeholders, and community leaders;
  • Maintain and develop our relationships with our former students and employees;
  • Participate in the Colleges fundraising efforts;
  • Maintain and develop our relationships with our donors and partners in addition to recognizing their contribution;
  • Develop key messages, talking points, and press releases to prepare staff and board members for speaking with various audiences and stakeholders and to support the College media outreach.
  • If necessary, perform any other related task.
Requirements :EDUCATIONHold an undergraduate university degree in communication or an appropriate field of specialization.QUALIFICATIONSWhat are we looking for in this position
  • Excellent communication skills in English and French, both oral and written;
  • Exceptional writer with proven ability to quickly and consistently produce compelling materials for defined audiences and established communication objectives;
  • Experience in project management and demonstrated ability to initiate collaboration;
  • High level of attention to detail to ensure all work is produced to the highest standard;
  • Creative and strategic mindset;
  • Excellent priorities management;
  • Technological savvy – up-to-date with digital trends and developments, social media analytics, social listening, and mobile marketing.
  • Proven experience in social media and web platforms management (i.e Umbraco);
  • Have a good political sense and master assertive communication;
  • Know how to prioritize, plan and organize their tasks and responsibilities
