Champlain Regional College is seeking the services of a DOCUMENTATION TECHNICIAN to work on a Full-time temporary position (Contract ending on July 1, 2022 - Possibility of a contract extension) at Champlain Regional College (St. Lawrence Campus).FUNCTIONSReporting to the Coordinator Pedagogical and Institutional development and working within established procedures, the incumbent will assure the coordination of the work of support personnel involved in operations for which she/he is responsible. The incumbent will also perform technical support with regards to the organization and functioning of the library systems such as cataloging, reference and circulation work. Furthermore, the incumbent will be responsible for operation work at the circulation desk and provide assistance to other Library staff as well as users.MAIN RESPONSABILITIES1. Coordinate the tasks of support personnel involved in operations for which she/he is responsible;2. Participate in the development of the Library collection as per established policies;3. Contribute to the development of and take part in promotion activities for the Library such as orientation sessions on the use of various library resources and research techniques to students and teachers;4. Assist in overseeing all cataloging for the Library (print and electronic);5. Maintain the Authority files;6. See to the smooth operation of the circulation counter;7. Assist with the management of overdue notices and hold requests;8. Provide research support;9. Proceed to the weeding of the collections as per established policies;10. Ensure the day-to-day follow-up of the acquisitions budget;11. Write and update procedures related to the tasks of the position;12. Compile statistics;13. Assist the Adapted Services Department with the research and acquisition of adapted documents (e.g. PDF, e-text, audio, MP3, videos, etc.);14. Any other related task.Requirements :EDUCATIONMust have a diploma of college studies (DEC) in an appropriate specialty such as in Information and Library Technologies or a diploma or an attestation of studies which is recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.REQUIREMENTS
