Job Description

The operations planner is responsible for optimally planning the manufacturing operations of each of the manufacturing plants according to project demand and to criteria of delivery dates, availability of manufacturing requirements, production constraints and project priorities. The operations planner also has an important role as a central liaison between all departments in the operational chain.Share on :Main responsibilitiesCollaborate on a daily basis with the production manager to optimize the production master plan with capacity management, leveling of manufacturing hours and assignment of production batches per plant according to complexityMaintain and share up-to-date information on the production master plan with critical dates from the schedules sent by project managersAnalyze internal production capacity overruns with the production manager in order to develop possible operational strategies. Then inform the scheduling committee where the final decisions are madeMaintain the information of the scheduling schedule (“Backlog”);Factory start dates, date required on site, production start dateProgress of production batches by operationWorkload in manufacturing hours per operationWeekly capacity in hours per operationOther useful criteria for analyzing scheduling scenariosValidate the availability of project requirements (drawings, steel, etc.) to ensure that the production batches will be ready to go to the factory according to the planned scheduleAnalyze and propose different scheduling scenarios aimed at optimizing the use of resources, according to the constraints of the batches that are ready for the factory and those to comeParticipate weekly in scheduling meetings where decisions are made on the next batches to be scheduled and those to be subcontracted, etc.Participate in developing and improving working methods and toolsFeed the production master plan with new projects obtained in salesOther functionsParticipate in the analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs)Participate in the selection and implementation of new planning and integrated management softwareEnsure that the deadlines agreed in the standard planning process are respectedParticipate in the continuous improvement of processesIntegration of internal management of manufacturing memos (emergencies)Review and coordinate with the expedition leader the projection of deliveries to be plannedIntegration of the schedules of the design and engineering departmentTraining and skillsCollege diploma or bachelor’s degree in: Operations management; Industrial Engineering; Industrial Management; or equivalent training2 to 5 years of experience as a planner in a manufacturing environmentFunctional spoken and written EnglishMastery of Excel, MS Project and Office suite softwareKnowledge of basic concepts and computer-aided production management softwareGood knowledge of reading shop drawings of steel structures (asset)AbilitiesAutonomy and rigorDeveloped analytical and critical mindGood communication skills and interpersonal skillsAbility to work in a multidisciplinary teamSense of responsibility, organized and structuredSense of creativity and innovationWork environment and benefitsGroup insurance paid at 50%Pension fund with employer contributionPossibility of teleworkingV ery active social and sports clubParticipate in the production of large-scale projectsFull-time dedicated health and safety specialistContinuious trainingEmployee and Family Assistance ProgramFlexible work scheduleFloating holidaysRecognition of years of service$3000 referral bonusesA beautiful gang, and more!Quick Apply
