We look for people who have a safety-first mindset, who are collaborative team players, who deliver on their commitments, who are innovators in search of a better way, and who believe in inclusion.Working at Nutrien will provide you an opportunity to help us Feed the Future, and grow your career.Advisor, SH&E Retail - (East/South Saskatchewan, Canada)Reporting to the Sr. Manager, SH&E Retail Canada Region this position is responsible for supporting retail locations in our East Sask Division as well as our Central Sask Division with safety, health, environmental, and DOT programs and training to ensure safe operations at our Retail facilities.What you will do:Regulatory ResponsibilitiesIdentify SH&E, OSHA, EPA, DOT and DHS regulations applicable to materials and processes at facilities and assist in understanding EHS, OSHA, EPA, DOT and DHS regulations, standards and programsConduct company EHS compliance auditsPrepare and lead training meetings and train-the-trainer sessionsAdvise and support facilities during interaction with regulatory agenciesKeep apprised of federal, state and regional laws and regulations affecting facilities and maintain working relationships with regulatory agenciesSafetyInvestigate incidents such as injuries, vehicle accidents and property damageDetermine root cause of incidents and oversee preparation of corrective action plans for each incidentEnsure timely notification is made to regulatory agencies and company management for incidentsMonitor facilities for unsafe work practices and unsafe work conditions and support Near Miss Reporting at facilitiesEnvironmental EngagementRespond and coordinate spill response effortsEvaluate and advise on operational practices at locations for environmental riskEvaluate and advise on proposed acquisitions and divestitures for safety and environmental riskSupport facility and Division management on construction projectsAssure preparation, submittal and maintenance of RMP/PSM plans, SARA Tier II and Pesticide Production ReportsAssist facilities on waste management issuesDOT and Fleet SafetySupport facilities in implementing DOT and fleet safety programs such as driver qualification files and defensive driving trainingWhat you will bring:High school diploma requiredBachelors degree in safety, environmental science or related field preferred5 years of work experience in related fieldProfessional certification (in safety or environmental field) preferred; any applicant hired will be expected to obtain a Professional Certification in SafetyKnowledge of federal and provincial laws and regulations including (but not limited) to OH&S, PSM, CEPA, RMP, Department of Agriculture, National Safety agenciesMust be self–motivated and disciplined requiring little to no direct supervision, ability to concurrently deal with multiple projects, and meet deadlinesComputer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including MS Word, PowerPoint, and ExcelAbility to travel up to 65% of the time, with overnight travel approximately 40% of the timeAbility to work outdoors in a wide range of temperatures and weather conditionsAbility to be certified by a physician to wear a respirator and wear personal protective equipmentAbility to operate in a drug-free workplace and possess a Canadian driver’s licenseAre you a good match Apply today!Nutrien is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to creating an inclusive workplace.
