We encourage all qualified persons to apply, particularly Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, racialized people, and people with diverse gender identities and sexual orientations, and others who share our values and contribute to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace.We are looking for a Coordinator – Friendly Calls Program, who will work to enhance the volunteer experience through identified sourcing, recruitment, and engagement activities, taking responsibility to building a relationship with volunteers throughout the volunteer cycle.As a Coordinator – Friendly Calls Program , you will:

  • Contribute to workforce planning
  • Support volunteer sourcing initiatives
  • Support volunteer engagement through regular communication, activities, and recognition
  • Provide volunteers with ongoing supervision, coaching, performance feedback
  • Ensure clients and volunteers are placed appropriately
  • Support partnerships with community contacts to promote and enhance the Friendly Calls Programs.
  • Seek out and participate in community networking opportunities.
  • Develop relationships and work with local like-minded organizations to meet the needs of the Friendly Calls Program.
What we are looking for:
  • Bachelors degree OR diploma in Community Health-related field (Nursing, Medicine, Kinesiology) or a related field; knowledge of community development and community health issues
  • 1-3 years of related experience, including some significant involvement with both training / implementation and public education / outreach, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong knowledge of the mission, principles, and work of the Red Cross Movement, locally and worldwide
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills in English are essential. Fluency in another language is a definite asset
  • Experience in working with a diverse population, and an understanding of cultural issues is a definite asset
  • Experience in volunteer management is required
  • Office automation skills required
  • A valid driver’s license is required
  • Full vaccination against COVID-19 is mandatory for this position and operation (the CRC will however adhere to its duty to accommodate those who are unable to be fully vaccinated for a reason related to a human right protected ground).
