Database Administrator About UsHealth OPM, which stands forquot;Our People Matter, quot; is dedicated to addressing workforce gaps in the healthcare sector by connecting clients with skilled candidates across various settings, including long-term care, hospitals, and clinics.We are currently seeking a Database Administrator to support our clients in Saskatchewan.Job Title: Database AdministratorLocation: SaskatchewanJob Type: [Full-Time/Part-Time/Contract]Job Summary:We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Database Administrator to manage and maintain our clients #39; database systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of databases, as well as troubleshooting and resolving database issues. Strong technical expertise and problem-solving skills are essential for this role.Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain database systems to meet the needs of the organization
  • Monitor database performance and optimize queries for efficiency
  • Ensure the security, integrity, and availability of databases through regular backups and updates
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, including performance problems and data inconsistencies
  • Develop and maintain documentation for database systems, processes, and procedures
  • Implement and manage database security policies and access controls
  • Assist with database migrations, upgrades, and patch management
  • Collaborate with other IT staff and departments to support application development and integration
  • Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including indexing, tuning, and data cleanup
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in computer science, information technology, or a related field
  • Previous experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role is required
  • Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL)
  • Proficiency in database design, optimization, and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery procedures and data security best practices
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Database Administrator, Oracle Certified Professional) are a plus
