Job Description

Legacy Co-op is hiring a Full - Time Maintenance Technician for all the Legacy Co-op facilities and its assets in Yorkton, Kamsack, Theodore, Churchbridge, Ebenezer and surrounding area.Who we are:Co-op does business differently. To learn more about who we are and how you can help bring our brand to life, visit us at www.legacyco-op.crs.What you’ll do:You will be responsible for delivering legendary service to make all internal customers of our Co-op feel “at home here” through:

  • Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and Asset & Protection Manager, you are responsible for assisting in the arranging of installation, regular repair, and maintenance of all Legacy Co-op facilities and its assets.
  • Assisting and working collaboratively with all contracted services and department managers for maintenance in adherence to the contracts, timelines, and repairs required. Reports any noncompliance or concerns of the contracted services to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Solid understanding of applicable legislation and bylaws, responsible for assisting and participating in the short, and long-term maintenance repair program for Legacy Co-op facilities and its assets.
  • Develop and maintain a positive, collaborative working relationship with all contracted services, managers, and team members by responding to and assisting with the work requests on Limble in a timely manner.
  • Model and facilitate a culture of “safety” at all locations, support, and work with management and department managers in respect to the co- ordination/scheduling/training/ and ensuring employees are educated on the expectations regarding asset protection/preventive measures, day-to-day maintenance and employee safety.
  • Document, communicate, and prioritize, current and future preventative maintenance for all assets, ensure satisfactory completion of all work requests on Limble.
  • Assisting Maintenance Manager with the design and construction of renovation projects.

  • Grade 12 certificate
  • Valid Class 5 license and maintain it throughout the employment
  • Occupational Health and Safety, Level I and II, WHIMIS, CPR and First Aid or willing to obtain
  • 2 years’ experience in facility/equipment repair and maintenance administration, implementing preventative and corrective maintenance programs
  • Must possess/ demonstrates accountability, collaboration and experience dealing with emergencies, problem solving and the ability to set, prioritize and adjust work request schedules as required (mandatory)
  • Journeyperson certifications (electrical and plumbing) or certifications in related trades, and or project management would be an asset
  • Retail training and experience in areas of asset protection, maintenance repair, and replacement
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels across the organization
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to maintain focus while working independently setting goals with measurable outcomes
  • You’re honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do
  • Safety sensitive positions require a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
