Job DescriptionRESPEC, an employee-owned professional consulting and services company, specializes in applying engineering principles and innovative technologies to solve our clients’ most challenging problems. RESPEC actively seeks a motivated and talented professional to join an internationally renowned engineering team as a rock mechanics engineer in our Miningamp; Engineering business unit. This position is technically challenging and demanding and provides unique opportunities for continued professional and personal growth. This position will be based in our Canadian office and collaboration with the team in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan will be encouraged, but will report to the manager of the Rock Mechanics group.This position requires a demonstrated working knowledge and practical experience of engineering principles and business practices to successfully plan and execute a diverse range of geotechnical projects. The successful candidate will work on projects that are primarily focused in the area of underground rock mechanics in evaporites (i.e., potash and salt), including pillar and excavation design, ground-control, and surface-subsidence engineering.Responsibilities: The engineer will be responsible for the complete life of projects—from proposal development through successful project execution staying on schedule and on budget under limited supervision of management staff. The engineer is responsible for simultaneous involvement in multiple projects at one time, requiring well-developed time management skills and the ability to independently prioritize competing project demands while balancing business objectives and client expectations. Strong business development skills are desired as this position will require frequent outreach to existing and new clients to maintain and develop new business within the Rock Mechanics group.Qualifications:
