This team gets involved with the fundamentals of what the strategy is and how we can achieve it. Team Members are often considered innovators as they develop and enhance network designs aimed at improving client service reliability for core mobility services. Often being met by difficult decisions, they remain invested in what they do and believe in what they are creating for the future.Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish togetherAs a DevOps Engineer, you will drive strategy for 4G, 5G and the automation program for our core network infrastructure and services. Your creativity coupled with strong automation, data science, machine learning, and computer networking skills will allow us to find the most efficient ways of building and maintaining our wireless core network to support existing mobility infrastructure and offer new services.You will exercise your entrepreneurial spirit and creative vision to change the way TELUS leverages technology.   • Investigate and implement opportunities to leverage automation for the mobility core network and services
  • Implement machine learning algorithms and develop system APIs
  • Develop quality solutions through adherence to coding standards and test automation
  • Support the delivery of Technology and Automation specific programs
  • Participate in creation of technical design documentation: Detail design and architecture documents
  • Participate in operational improvement initiatives, in conjunction with other technology teams in the company
QualificationsYou’re the missing piece of the puzzle
  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Familiar with Agile and CI/CD pipeline
  • Experience in the wireless core network, especially EPC (Evolved Packet Core – PGW, MME, DRA), IoT, NFV, SDN, 5G
  • Experience in network systems & process automation using DevOps tools and programming/scripting languages such as JavaScript, PowerShell, Python, Unix shell, Ansible, Jenkins, GitLAB
  • Experience working on Linux operating systems and cloud computing platforms such as Red Hat, Open Stack and/or VMWare
  • Strong capabilities of data mining, machine learning and API design
  • Good understanding of computer technologies and architectures including TCP/IP, O/S, layer 2 and 3 networks, SNMP and MIB
  • Familiar with 3G and 4G core network technologies (UMTS & LTE)
  • Demonstrated experience in building strong relationships with key stakeholders including senior management across the technology and partnering organizations
Great-to-haves
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • Professional certifications: Red Hat (RHCE), Openstack (COA), and Routing & Switching
