All replies, applications and information received shall be held in the strictest of confidence.Here #39;s a refined version of the job description for a Dining Assistant at your family-run retirement community:Job Title: Dining AssistantLocation: Scarborough Retirement Residence (SRR)Scarborough Retirement Residence, a reputable family-run retirement community, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dining Assistant. We are looking for someone who values excellent service, is team-oriented, and has a passion for connecting with residents. As a Dining Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring our residents enjoy a pleasant dining experience.Key Responsibilities:
  • Service Excellence: Ensure food and beverages are delivered accurately, promptly, and at the correct temperature.
  • Food Handling: Demonstrate proper food handling techniques and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the team, participating in all dining functions, including taking and delivering orders, setting and clearing tables, and maintaining dining areas.
  • Kitchen Duties: Perform general cleaning duties in the kitchen, including cleaning floors, counters, equipment, dish pit, and storage areas, while adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
  • Safety Compliance: Understand the importance of using personal protective equipment (PPE) and complying with health and safety requirements in the kitchen environment.
  • Resident Care: Be aware of and monitor residents’ dietary restrictions, ensuring all meals meet their specific needs.
Additional Duties: Assist in other tasks as assigned to support the overall dining services team.Requirements:
  • Experience in hospitality.
  • Current Safe Food Handler’s Certificate.
  • Smart Serve certification.
  • Familiarity with food service procedures and correct food handling.
  • Ability to operate and clean institutional cooking equipment and a commercial dishwasher.
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check.
