Job Description

Subsidiary: Miller Paving LimitedLocation: Scarborough, ONAs a Dispatcher/Plant Operator, You Will:

  • Accept and coordinate customer orders
  • Schedule employees and equipment to ensure efficient concrete delivery
  • Ensure sufficient materials and supplies are available
  • Operate the Concrete Plant and batch system, have a basic understanding of mix designs and concrete production equipment
  • Direct personnel with yard and plant maintenance
  • Assist with both manual and computerized record keeping required to track production, materials inventory, and driver times
  • Administration of safety and environmental compliance, apply The Miller Group’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures
  • Assist with general labour duties when required
  • Other duties as assigned
What Youll Bring:
  • Previous concrete/dispatching experience an asset
  • Basic understanding of concrete would be an asset
  • Customer Service experience would be an asset
  • Equipment maintenance experience, or loader operating experience would be considered an asset
  • Valid Driver’s license and vehicle required
  • DZ/AZ Licence, considered an asset
  • Ability to respond to needs and requests of others in a professional and supportive manner
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including nights and weekends as required
  • Basic computer knowledge and hands on ability, with appreciation toward keeping up with new software and technologies used on the job
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, required to work with drivers, customers, and outside suppliers to determine needs and/or resolve issues or problems
  • Excellent organizational skills required to compile, accumulate, and utilize information
